Advanced Gaming Systems, Inc., (AGSI) was incorporated in 1990 as a royalty accounting mechanism for Harpoon. AGSI’s became a publishing firm when Harpoon designers Jesse Spears and Byron Audler asked to upgrade Harpoon 1 and 2. Those products hit the market in 2002. In 2006, AGSI entered into an agreement with Matrix Games. Matrix handles the packaging and PR issues of the commercial Harpoon versions. AGSI is managed by Don Gilman, president, and Russell “Rusty” Sharp, development manager. Gilman focuses on the business end while Sharp works on programmin. Others associated with AGSI are Dale Hillier, director of training; Jason Savell, sysop and support programmer; Kip Allen, technical editor; Darren Buckley, database creator and testing; and testers David Young and Sean Whitehead. In addition to continuing Harpoon for hobbiests, AGSI develops and supports Harpoon 3 Pro, a version designed to help military professionals and policy makers plan for future naval confrontations.
